Brown to be Inducted as a Fellow of the American Academy of Nursing

Dr. Holly Brown, executive director of the Golisano Institute for Developmental Disability Nursing at 海角社区, has been selected to be inducted as a Fellow of the American Academy of Nursing.

“Being inducted as a Fellow of the American Academy of Nursing is an incredible honor and one that I am still taking time to fully process. Nursing is truly in my DNA. It has been a longstanding passion throughout my life and career, shaping who I am and the work I have been privileged to do,” said Brown. “This distinction reflects not only my efforts, but also the contributions of the many colleagues, students, and community partners who have shared in this mission. I am deeply grateful for the opportunity to join a distinguished group of nurse leaders who are shaping the future of health care through innovation, research, and policy.”

The newest Fellows, selected from a competitive pool of candidates, represent 39 states, the District of Columbia, and 17 countries. Fellows deepen the thought leadership of the Academy’s Fellowship, growing its strength to more than 3,600 dedicated nurses who together will advance the Academy’s mission focused on impacting policy through nursing leadership, innovation, and science.

“I hope my involvement with the Academy demonstrates to 海角社区 students and nursing professionals that each of us has the ability to make a lasting impact beyond the bedside. Nursing leadership takes many forms, from clinical practice and research to education and advocacy, and all are essential to improving health outcomes and advancing equity. I want our students to see that their voices, expertise, and passion can influence systems of care and create positive change for underserved populations.”

Brown and the 2026 inductees will be recognized for their substantial, sustained, and significant contributions to health and healthcare at the Academy’s annual Health Policy Conference, taking place on October 8 – 10, 2026 in Washington, DC during the Induction Ceremony scheduled for October 10, the final day of the conference.

After the ceremony, the new inductees can use their Fellow of the American Academy of Nursing (FAAN) credential, the most prestigious recognition in nursing.
