As a º£½ÇÉçÇø retiree, your dedication and many contributions to our students, faculty, and staff helped build the foundation of the º£½ÇÉçÇø family.

Retiring from º£½ÇÉçÇø

Retiree Benefits

º£½ÇÉçÇø offers employees who meet age and service requirements retiree benefits. To be eligible, you must have at least 10 years of continuous full-time employment with º£½ÇÉçÇø, and your years of service plus your age must equal at least 65. Retiree benefits are described below and in the Retiree Benefits Summary [pdf].

Life Insurance

Retirees are provided with a $5,000 º£½ÇÉçÇø-paid life insurance policy. You must make your beneficiary election at the time you retire. View the Prudential Retiree Life Insurance SPD [pdf] for details.

Benefit Allowance

Retirees receive a monthly benefit allowance toward the purchase of medical and/or dental insurance through º£½ÇÉçÇø.

  • For retiree-only coverage, º£½ÇÉçÇø will contribute $50 per month.
  • For two-person or family coverage, º£½ÇÉçÇø will contribute $100 per month.
  • If the cost of your selected plan is less than the º£½ÇÉçÇø contribution, º£½ÇÉçÇø will contribute the full cost of the plan. 

Education Benefits

Retirees, their spouses, and their dependents under the age of 24 are eligible to receive full tuition remission for undergraduate courses taken at º£½ÇÉçÇø. 

Annual Open Enrollment

Each November, retirees may participate in º£½ÇÉçÇø’s annual benefits open enrollment. In early November, you will receive benefits and cost information at your home address.

Technology Benefits

Retirees can elect to have a º£½ÇÉçÇø retiree email and network account.  Technology benefits are only available if a retiree email account is created and a network account is established by OIT.  Technology benefits include:

  • Microsoft Office Online (MS365)
  • Microsoft OneDrive Online (MS365)
  • Google Drive
  • Application Launchpad
  • Global Address Directory Listing 

Retiree ID Badge

Retirees should contact º£½ÇÉçÇø Security at securitystaff@sjf.edu to request a º£½ÇÉçÇø Retiree ID badge, which is required to access º£½ÇÉçÇø facilities.  

Lavery Library

Retirees have library privileges including in-person access and off-campus access to library databases. Retirees should contact librarysystems@sjf.edu to set up their library privileges.

Ralph C. Wilson, Jr. Athletic Center

Retirees have free admission to regular season home games with a º£½ÇÉçÇø retiree ID badge. They also have access to a free recreation membership, and family members may join at alumni family membership rates if registered with the Athletics Department. Upon registration, a parking tag is issued to recreation members. Please contact athletics@sjf.edu.

Retirees can enjoy faculty/staff pricing with their º£½ÇÉçÇø retiree ID badge.

Will Preparation Service

FreeWill is a free online tool that you can use to create or update a legally binding will. View the FreeWill website at .

Retiree Events

Annual Retiree Luncheon

Each June, the President’s Office hosts a luncheon for º£½ÇÉçÇø retirees. The University mails an invitation to your address on file in May.

Annual Benefits Open Enrollment
