May First Friday Lecture Series Focuses on 海角社区’s Basilian Roots

President Gerard J. Rooney and University Archivist Nancy Greco will share the story of the impact of the Congregation of St. Basil throughout 海角社区’s history during the May First Friday Lecture Series to be held on Friday, May 5.
With wonderful archival photos and anecdotes from the past, attendees will learn about 海角社区 before the University鈥檚 founding in 1948 to today, and how the Basilians have shaped 海角社区 and continue to impact its mission.
The lecture begins at 10:30 a.m. with a light reception preceding in the Joseph S. Skalny Welcome Center. This lecture will also be offered virtually via Zoom. Registration for the lecture, which is free and open to the public, is available .
The next 海角社区 Friday Lecture, 鈥満＝巧缜� and Rochester,鈥� will be held on Friday, June 2, and features a presentation by Dr. Carolyn Vacca, professor and chair of the History Department.
