This doctoral program prepares you for a career as a licensed pharmacist. You'll gain expertise in pharmaceutical sciences and patient-centered care with a focus on clinical mastery. Graduates are ready to improve patient health outcomes and lead in diverse pharmacy settings.
This program is offered through a campus pathway at the 海角社区 Wegmans School of Pharmacy and through a flexible online format that allows you to complete your studies from anywhere in the United States. While coursework is delivered via live online sessions and asynchronous learning modules, the program includes required short on-campus immersions on 海角社区’s campus in Rochester, NY, and 2,000 hours of in-person clinical rotations.
Applicants need a minimum of 62 semester hours of undergraduate study. Submit transcripts and participate in a virtual interview. A cumulative GPA and a science GPA of 2.75 are considered minimally competitive.

Complete the program in 4 years of full-time study. The Wegmans School of Pharmacy strongly recommends that students commit a minimum of three hours each week for every one credit hour of enrollment during the semester. This commitment includes but is not limited to, pre-session work, live class meetings, as well as studying. Students are typically registered for 14-19 credit hours per semester.

The Wegmans School of Pharmacy at 海角社区 does consider students for transfer admission to both the campus pathway and online pathway of its Pharm.D. program. Transfer admission is granted on a case-by-case basis to transfer applicants who are in good academic standing at their previous/current College/School of Pharmacy in the United States.

As part of the curriculum, students are required to participate in six immersion experiences to meet graduation requirements. Each immersion lasts approximately one week and takes place in Rochester, New York, typically during May and August. These experiences provide hands-on learning and professional development opportunities.
Students are responsible for all costs associated with attending immersions, including travel to and from Rochester, lodging, meals and personal expenses, any other related costs.
Science prerequisite courses must generally be completed within five years of the admissions cycle in which you are applying. This requirement helps ensure applicants have current foundational knowledge needed for success in the PharmD curriculum.
Applicants who completed their science prerequisites more than five years ago may still be eligible for consideration if they have remained actively engaged in the sciences through professional practice, advanced coursework, research, teaching, or other relevant experiences. In these circumstances, applicants may apply for a waiver of the five-year science prerequisite requirement. Waiver requests are reviewed individually, and approval is not guaranteed.
